A good sized original antique print of the Orcella fungus accompanied by the related text. Also commonly known today as The Miller mushroom.

A beautiful hand coloured lithograph, heightened in places with gum arabic. The original colours remain bright and fresh.

A wonderful print for framing and display.

Fine, virtually unmarked condition.

Approx. 12" x 9"(310mm x 240mm) overall.



Anna Maria Hussey (1805 -1853) was a British mycologist, author and illustrator who published her definitive work on British fungi, mushrooms and toadstools as Mrs T.J.Hussey following the convention of the time as she was married to the Rev.Thomas John Hussey.  
She collected specimens mainly in her native county of Kent and had connections with Charles Darwin.
