Frederick De Wit (c1629-1706) was a leading Dutch cartographer born in Gouda but active in mapmaking in Amsterdam from 1648 to 1706. The printing business was originally known as "The Three Crabs" which later became "The White Chart". He produced a number of world atlases and one of the Netherlands. A Sea Atlas and numerous town and city plans were also added to the inventory. His wife Maria continued the business briefly after his death in 1706 but the plates and stock were sold to Covens and Mortier in 1710.
