A fine copper engraved map of Germany and The Netherlands by Sanson.

Fine, unmarked condition, free of repairs/restoration.  Fold lines as issued.

Approx. 6.5" x 6" (165mm x 145mm) map area only with good margins beyond. A crisp impression on robust, medium grade hand laid paper.


Nicolas Sanson (Sanson d'Abbeville) (1600 -1667) published his most important work, the "Cartes Generale de Toutes les Parties du Monde" in 1658. A tutor to Louis XIV and founder of the first French cartographic dynasty, he was highly influential and his work was still in use long afer his death.
