An original and interesting 18th century copper engraved antique map of The World in hemispheres.

Greenland is contiguous with mainland North America and Tasmania (Van Diemen's land) is contiguous with Australia (New Holland). New Guinea is only partially charted. San Francisco appears as Drake's Harbour and Hawaii is shown as "Owhyee where C.Cook was killed".

Enhanced with original outline hand colouring.

Fine condition other than some faint offsetting and patchy toning as seen, free of repairs or restoration, fold lines as issued.

 Approx. 15.5" x 8.5" (400mm x 220mm) overall.
