An interesting , scarce and detailed , early 18th century antique road strip map, showing part of the route from London towards Poole . Starting in Alresford and continuing via Winchester, Ringwood, Christchurch and Southampton..

This atlas was never re-published and is therefore quite scarce.



The map depicts a route in the form of 7 vertical strips with a compass rose showing orientation; additionally, miles, furlongs, towns, villages churches, windmills, rivers and hills are depicted.

Based on the earlier survey of the roads by John Ogilby and bearing a dedication to George Trenchard Esq. 


Fine, unmarked condition, a crisp ,dark impression which would frame well
