A copper engraved antique portrait of Edmund Ludlow (also Ludlowe), an English General and Lieutenant of Oliver Cromwell.

 Fine condition other than light spotting around the margins.

 Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.

Approx. 8" x 5" (200mm x 120mm) overall.


The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical.

  It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
