An interesting and highly detailed copper engraved antique map of Colombo, Ceylon, present day Sri Lanka during the period of Dutch occupation. The sea area is embellished with sailing ships and the land outside the fortified town of Colombo is also shown in pictorial fashion, with cattle, elephants, palm trees etc. Scarce.
Fine condition other than some light patchy browning. Fold lines as issued.
Approx. 14" x 11" ( 350mm x 290mm )map area only with good margins beyond on hand laid paper, blank verso.
