An interesting map published shortly after the French Revolution and dated as year 3 in the French Republican Calendar.

The English counties are grouped according to their ancient counterparts of Wessex, (West Sex), Mercia etc.

Enhanced with later hand colouring.

Fine condition other than some light fading and soiling to the margins and the original central fold line, free of repairs or restoration, blank verso.

Approx. 9.5" x 9" (240mm x 220mm) map area only, with margins beyond.
