Plan of New Street from

Opening a communication between
LONDON BRIDGE & WHITECHAPEL,
and the COMMERCIAL BLACKWALL RAILWAY.
and shewing the proposed new street from the
CUSTOM HOUSE to GRACECHURCH STREET
for the relief of
THAMES STREET & FISH STREET HILL

Published by James & Luke, G.Hansard, London 1838 as ordered by the House of Commons in Volume 16 of
"Reports from Comittees No.10; Metropolis Improvements; Railroads"
An interesting and good sized lithographed street plan of part of London with original hand colouring, drawn up to support a planning application for new development.
The highly detailed plan includes individual buildings and all streets are named. The plan centres on the Tower hill area and covers from King William Street, London Bridge and the Royal Exchange in the west to the Tower of London, Minories and Mansell Street in the east. From Custom House and Billingsgate in the south to Leadenhall Street in the north. Includes India House and India Warehouses, Jewry, Trinity House, Fenchurch Street, Lime Street, Fishmongers Hall etc etc.
It would make an absorbing comparison with the present day street layout and is a fascinating record of a rapidly changing London in the early 19th century.

Fine condition. Fold lines as issued.
Approx. 25" x 13" (640mm x 330mm)overall. Printed on good quality wove paper, blank verso.
