Published London 1748 by John Hinton.  

An interesting copper engraved antique print of an unusual musical clock owned by 18th century Lichfield apothecary, Richard Green. Still known as the Lichfield clock it is today housed at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. 

The fascinating accompanying text is included which gives a detailed description of the clock and its elaborate case shown on the left. Dated in the plate.


 Fine condition other than some cropping of the lower margin as seen. Fold lines as issued.

 Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.

Approx. 9" x 8" (230mm x 200mm) overall.


The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical.

  It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
