A copper engraved antique portrait of John Manners, the Marquis of Granby an eminent Lieutenant General in the British Army with many English pubs named after him to this day.
 

 Fine condition.

 Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.

Approx. 8" x 5" (200mm x 120mm) overall.


The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical.

  It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
