Depicting a scene from the poem " The Roman Father" written by William Whitehead who went on to become Poet Laureate in 1757 and based on a well known event in early Roman history, a combat between Horatii and Curiatii.


Accompanying the print is a page of original, related, dated text.


On hand laid paper, with fold lines as issued  and in fine condition  save for light age toning.




Measuring approx. approx 10"x 8"( 260mm x  200mm)   overall.

  It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
