An interesting copper engraved antique print of starch making in the 18th century. The fascinating related text (supplied) describes the process in great detail and includes a key to the various numbered and lettered elements in the engraving.

 Fine condition other than minor age blemishes. Fold lines as issued.

 Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.

Approx. 9" x 8" (230mm x 200mm) overall.


The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical.

  It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
