The map depicts a route in the form of 7 vertical strips with a compass rose showing orientation; additionally, miles, furlongs, towns, villages churches, windmills, rivers and hills are depicted.
Based on the earlier survey of the roads by John Ogilby and bearing a dedication to George Trenchard Esq.
